2. Divided by pressure:

Atmospheric pressure storage tank: When the gas phase pressure of the storage tank is the same as or less than 1/3 of atmospheric pressure (gauge), it is called an atmospheric pressure storage tank.

Low pressure storage tank: When the pressure is greater than 1/3 of the atmospheric pressure (gauge) and less than 0.1MPa, it is called a low pressure storage tank.

It can be seen that the working pressure of low-pressure storage tanks is higher than that of atmospheric storage tanks, but its pressure is less than 0.1 MPa.

3. Divided by the environment:

Above ground storage tanks, semi underground storage tanks, underground storage tanks, underground storage tanks, and offshore storage tanks. Above ground storage tanks refer to tanks whose bottom is located at or above the design elevation of ± 0.00; The bottom of the tank is below the design elevation ± 0.00 but not exceeding 1/2 of the height of the oil tank, also known as an above ground oil tank.

Semi underground storage tank: refers to a tank buried underground at a depth greater than half of its height, and the maximum height of the tank's liquid level does not exceed 0.2m above the design elevation ± 0.00.

Underground storage tank: refers to an oil tank with a liquid level of 0.2m below the design elevation ± 0.00.

4. Classified by geometric shape: Vertical cylindrical storage tanks:

According to their tank roof structure, they can be divided into fixed roof storage tanks (conical roof storage tanks, arch roof storage tanks, umbrella roof storage tanks, mesh shell top storage tanks (spherical mesh shells), drip shaped storage tanks) and movable roof storage tanks (external floating roof storage tanks, internal floating roof storage tanks without moment).

Horizontal cylindrical storage tank: suitable for storing liquids with small capacity and high pressure requirements.

Spherical storage tank: suitable for storing liquids with large capacity and certain pressure, such as liquid ammonia, liquefied petroleum gas, ethylene, etc.
